Lead is the gold standard of roofing materials, with a proven track record spanning centuries. Summit Roofing Services employs skilled leadworkers who are experienced in all aspects of traditional and modern lead roofing across Yorkshire.

We carry out lead valley replacements, dormer cheek cladding, flat lead roofs, chimney back gutters, stepped and cover flashings, and decorative leadwork. All our work uses milled lead sheet to the appropriate code (thickness) as specified by the Lead Sheet Association — typically Code 4 for flashings and Code 5 or 6 for flat areas and gutters.

Properly installed leadwork should last 100 years or more. We follow Lead Sheet Association best practice for all joints, dressing, fixings, and patination oil application. Common issues we repair include fatigue cracking from thermal movement (often caused by oversized pieces in older installations), lifted flashings, and corroded or poorly detailed soakers.
